Madeleines are small cakes in a shell shape and come from France. We are officially announce the autumn season 🍂 and are baking the madeleines in a form with leaf motifs.
They are easy to prepare (e.g. with your children) and can also be stored perfectly for a few days – ideal for an upcoming visits, for snacking or as a gift.
Now we come to the recipe:
Ingredients
- 90 grams butter
- 180 grams sugar
- 10 grams vanilla sugar, homemade
- 3 eggs
- 75 grams milk
- 240 grams flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 2-3 drops of butter-vanilla or lemon flavor, optional
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 200°C top/bottom heat.
Melt the butter in the mixing bowl, 3 minutes/50°C/speed 1.
Add sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs, if necessary the butter-vanilla or lemon aroma and milk to the mixing bowl, beat 1 minute 30 seconds/speed 3 until frothy.
Add flour and baking powder, mix 15 seconds/speed 4.
Fill the finished dough into Madeleine molds and let rest for a few minutes.
Now bake the madeleines in the oven for about 15 minutes on the lowest rack of the oven. Turn out of the tin immediately after baking and let them cool on a wire rack.
