Plum sauce should be fruity and sweet – here comes a delicious recipe to cook at home.
Whether as a spread (e.g. for our pumpkin bread), to refine cakes or delicious biscuits or as a complement to hearty dishes: this plum sauce is ideal for this.
Quickly to prepare in the Thermomix® and it uses a small amount of sugar.
We use amaretto in this recipe, which can also be omitted. The alcohol boils off within the cooking time and serves for the taste. It is therefore also suitable for children to consume.
Here we show you the recipe:
Ingredients
- 140 grams sugar
- 1 piece of carnation
- 1 cardamom pod
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- ¾ teaspoon cinnamon
- 900 grams plums, pitted
- 20 grams amaretto
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
Put sugar, piece of carnation and cardamom pod in mixing bowl, 15 seconds/speed 10 and transfer.
Chop the pitted plums in a mixing bowl, 6 seconds/speed 6.
Add the remaining ingredients (including the powdered sugar-carnation-cardamom mixture) to the mixing bowl, mix together for 5 seconds/speed 3. Now cook for 25 minutes/Varoma®/speed 1 (without mixing bowl lid, cooking basket as a splash guard).
Pour the plum sauce into sterilized twist-off glasses, allow to cool and use if necessary.
Notes
If you like it sweeter, you can add more sugar or use other spices (e.g. tonka bean)
